Notes[]

  • One of the vital protection spells in the Protection Prayers line. Unlike Guardian, Aegis affects all party members within earshot. The drawback to this is that it takes much longer to recharge.
  • Aegis is an extremely effective spell for its low cost, and gets more useful in larger parties. Using "Halves Skill Recharge" or "of Enchanting" mods can make it even more powerful.
  • Combined with a weapon of Enchanting, and Glyph of Renewal, Aegis can be maintained indefinitely.
  • This spell is often used by multiple people in a party after one another, in an attempt to have Aegis always in effect. This tactic is called Aegis chaining.

Trivia[]

  • This skill may be named for the shield of Zeus, in the works of Homer. It may also simply be a usage of the word "aegis," although this word can be traced back to Homer's works.
  • In the Spanish version of the game, this skill was originally named "Auspicios." This was later changed in an update to "Égida", a more accurate translation of the English version's "Aegis."
