After the events in Guild Wars Eye of the North, the slumbering Ancient Dragons, whose power rivals that of the Gods themselves, will awaken. Primordus was the first to awaken, the "Undead Dragon" beneath Orr, and more that will would soon follow. The destruction that the ancient dragons will bring to Tyria will set the stage for Guild Wars 2.
The ancient dragons are polar opposites from the younger dragons like Glint and Kuunavang. They are free from all gods and boast frightening powers. They lack the sentience and wisdom of other great dragons, but are said to make up for it with their imposing magic.
