Template:Attribute-stub Axe Mastery reflects a Warrior's skill with using an axe. Leveling up this skill also affects the critical hit rate and the effectiveness of axe skills.

For a list of skills linked to Axe Mastery, see Category:Axe Mastery Skills.

Compared to swords, axes have a higher maximum damage, lower minimum damage, and the same attack rate. Specifically, a maximum-damage axe will do 6-28 damage, compared to 15-22 for a sword. While this means swords have a higher average damage per hit, it means axes are better for critical hits, which always use the maximum damage of a weapon.

The majority of axe skills are adrenaline-based, so it's advisable for an axe-focused warrior to use adrenaline-increasing skills or equipment.

A lot of axe skills cause Deep Wounds or have an extra effect on deeply wounded foes. This means axe users will generally be less effective against fleshless monsters that cannot suffer deep wounds.
