Dolyak

Dolyak in Yak's Bend

General

A Dolyak is a huge heavily-coated bovine animal with two pairs of horns on its head. It is currently unknown whether Yak is an equivalent term for Dolyak, or if one is a subspecies of another, but Yak's Bend is apparently named after the dolyaks found in the area.

Dolyaks serve as the basic farm animal for the Deldrimor Dwarves. They pull their wagons and ice ships and provide them with meat, milk and clothing. They are domesticated and can be found lying around in several outposts throughout the Shiverpeaks, such as Yak's Bend and Deldrimor War Camp. They are also found on a small island in the mountainous region of Wizard's Folly in Pre-Searing Ascalon.

As far as is currently known, lone dolyaks are not capable of being targeted, and thus cannot be Charmed into a pet.

In the GW:EN expansion pack, untargetable immobile Dolyak NPCs are found within herds of Berserking Bison, suggesting that the two are related (as they do share many physical characteristics) and may even interbreed.

Stone Summit Dolyak-mounted Units

Dolyaks are also used by the Stone Summit. They are covered in armor and used as war mounts by the following Stone Summit types:

Trivia

  • Dolyaks appear to be based on a combination of real world yaks and goats, as well as the banthas of Star Wars.
