Background

Every week, Nicholas the Traveler requests a different item in exchange for Gifts of the Traveler. These items of the week end up being very valuable for a short period, since the gifts can usually be sold for 4 Platinum–5 Platinum (and opening the gifts yields valuable items). Veteran players usually have no trouble farming the item using advanced (although standard) builds and they have access to the ideal farming locations. This guide, however, is designed to help every player of the game, including the relatively new player, who has fewer skills and might need to unlock the farming area.

Solo farming builds

These solo builds (from PvX) can be used every week to farm Nick's request item. (Rare exceptions will be noted in the guide.)

info about farm

There are three areas that can easily be farmed for Skree Wings.

Threats & recommended skills

  • Tactics: Pulling is essential if using the Desperate Measures method, as there are many Harpy groups bunched together, and Singers can resurrect foes not linked to their group. If another Singer or Griffin is brought back this way, it can result in having to deal with groups you already cleared; thus wasting time & energy for no extra loot. Also be wary of any Guards or Heket stealing Harpy kills.
  • Recommended skills: High damage AoE skills are useful for taking out both resurrect users simultaneously, thus neutralizing the main threat. Beware of interrupts if using slow spells though.
Solo Farmers might benefit from Frozen Soil if they can spare the secondary and some points.

A Show of Force

Farming in The Sulfurous Wastes

Ruptured Heart
Leave from the Mouth of Torment, head for the Crystal Overlook, killing the nearby monoliths. Zone and repeat.
The Sulfurous Wastes
Activate A Show of Force and take 4-5 human players. Leaving from Remains of Sahlahja, step into Junundu and head to the Great Margonite Temple in the southwest corner. Save time by refusing to fight any foes until you reach the resurrection shrine near the temple, but clear the neighborhood of the Margonites. The temple itself will have about a dozen monoliths. Activate the Abaddon Shrines one at-a-time, each spawning 6-10 monoliths and a variety of margonites. The wurms should allow you to survive most anything as long you avoid aggroing too many foes at once.

The temple can be farmed with heroes and henchmen, but it can be more difficult to get there. Flag the team ahead of you whenever possible to prevent them from engaging any foes along the route. Force heroes to tunnel at strategic points to get them past patrols. If you take a party of 8, you can afford to lose 1-2 to get to the temple. After reaching the farm, flag any extra team members out-of-reach so that they do not steal your drops.
