GuildWars Wikia was started in May, 2005, as a resource for the just then launched NCsoft game, Guild Wars. Started by the Corpse Corps guild under the name "GuildWiki" as a repository for information they themselves might need in the future, it has since grown exponentially thanks to the contributions of some very cool people. "GuildWiki" moved on and Guild Wars Wikia, became the fan fiction wiki, hosting only fan fiction and redirecting the documentation to the other site, GuildWiki.

All original content is licensed under a Creative Commons by-nc-sa license. All other information, art, skill images, are Copyright to their original creators, NCsoft, or ArenaNet.

Hosting of GuildWars Wikia is currently provided by Wikia Inc., funded by advertisements. For details about the arrangement of this CC BY-NC-SA site being hosted by a for-profit company, see Project:Wikia Move and Project talk:Wikia Move.
