For example, i cast a skill that speeds my movement by 25%, then, while my first skill is still active, i cast a skill that increases my speed by 33%. What will my current speed be? Will it be 58% faster than my original(25+33=58), or 33% faster than my 25% faster speed, or will the 33% replace the 25%? (if the last one, is it only when the weaker one is cast first?).

Travel to Silent Surf

Hello,

I am in Unwaking Waters and I need to get to Silent Surf. How do I do that?

BestRegards,

HSigerson

If you go via the Unwaking Waters (Luxon) outpost, there should be a portal. There are 2 small hills, one with Henchmen, and the other with the Xunlai agent, if I recall correctly. Inbetween lies the path to the Silent Surf portal. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 01:21, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

I am in Unwaking Waters Kurzick.

HSigerson.

Well, that's a whole different story. Go back to Cavalon, get the quest Befriending the Luxons, from Elder Rhea. And then proceed in the Luxon storyline. Gather 10k unspent faction, complete Gyala Hatchery (mission) and walk a looong road to Unwaking. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 03:11, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

serious problems with gameplay

hi

today when i was playing guildwars whenever i had my cursor over a character, they're armor would go yellow, eventually all the walls in the challenge mission i was doin went yellow then when i came out of the mission, there was blue blocks underneath everybody, and always i had around a 5 second lag, even when i logged out to the character selection all the armors on my characters were yellow and i couldnt play it so i had to come off, do you konw why this happened, and if will happen again to me. Sounds to me like a memory shortage, but I'm not an expert on that --Gimmethegepgun 16:55, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Definitely sounds like a memory problem. Try closing down other programs while you're playing GW. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del, click on "Task Manager", and look for programs with a high Mem usage. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 17:29, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
And you want to look in the "Processes" tab of task manager. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 05:03, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

unable to acces templates in vista x64

Hi,

I recently reinstalled guild wars on my new computer. Before installation i moved the documents folder to the D:\ drive now when playing guild wars i can't acces my templates. the directory it stated as 'templates\skills' , that should be 'D:\Documents\Guild Wars\Templates\Skills'

So far i got ZERO response from support of ArenaNet.

thanks for a solution.

( moving the documents folder back is not a option for me )

Thanks

Ronny

We have that info on the Skill template article - for Windows Vista, Templates are saved to "<user profile directory>\Documents\Guild Wars\Templates\Skills". Eg. "C:\Users\John\Documents\Guild Wars\Templates\Skills"Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 21:24, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

how do i git a nightfall into profsies--71.79.189.30 18:24, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

You have to take the quest Terror in Tyria from Deras Tenderlin in Kamadan. You need to have completed a load of primary quests first though.--Cobalt6 - (Talk/Contribs) 18:36, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Mapping aids.

One of my guildies informed that there is a program available in GW that helps with mapping by highlighting missed areas. Does anyone know if this program actually exists? If so is it legit, and where can I get it if it is?--Torn Cerberus 19:12, 25 July 2008 (UTC)Torn Cerberus

I believe what you're talking about is Cartography Made Easy, a TexMod package. Read the main article, GWW:Guide_to_modifying_in-game_graphics, for instructions on how to use TexMod. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 19:25, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
And it is legit, benign, and entirely sanctioned by ArenaNet (they can't help you with it though, since they didn't make it). Felix Omni Signature 19:26, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Technically, no, the use of TexMod is not sanctioned: "We cannot condone the use of such programs" from the quote of Gaile Gray on the GWW article. However, from the same quote: "it is unlikely that we would actively pursue or action those who use such programs in a positive manner", so you're not going to get in trouble for using it. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 19:37, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Is that the same post in which she talks about pickle swords? Felix Omni Signature 19:38, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
That's Emily Diehl, in the quote above Gaile. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 19:42, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, her. Her statement "As a general rule of thumb, we don't mind if you do things like this to make your own playing experience more fun. Some people really like to mod, and we recognize that this can often be a valuable learning tool" seems to be more or less an endorsement to me. Still, it's not a point worth debating, since the important thing is that TexMod won't get you banned. Felix Omni Signature 19:45, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Eh, true enough. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 19:53, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Sick, Wrong and Depraved...and <Submitter's> Pics are Innappropriate Too!!

Those pics of weapons really need to be changed. I'm tired of seeing...NOT weapons, or having something else thrown up there. I think the least the submitter could do is find some decent clothes so that we can see, really, we're not immature little 6th graders sitting at the back of the class. So anybody got some DECENT weapon pics?

There is method to the reasoning. Weapon pics are taken with no armor on so that the players armor does not interfere with the visual of the weaponry. You get a much clearer concise view of the weaponry, without bulky armor in the way. It is not done in any attempt to show any half-assed nudity as you seem to feel. -- Isk8 I~sk8 (T/C) 02:31, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Method to our madness would be the appropriate words here. There are really no..inappropriate images are there? Rsz PLSig 02:35, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I didn't feel that method to our madness was the best choice of words heh. I find them in no way inappropriate, but apparently this Ip does. Perhaps a reasoning as to why you find the images offensive. The official wiki does the exact same thing we do with their item images. Armor gets in the way, clips, and otherwise distracts from the item being portrayed. I cannot see any reason why a characters undergarments can possibly offend you. It is a feature of the game. It is not like there are completely nude animated characters portrayed. If you find it offensive, I don't understand why you play the game honestly. -- Isk8 I~sk8 (T/C) 02:40, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Sick, wrong, depraved and Inappropriate pictures and I was not informed because....? If you think that the base character models without armor are bad maybe you should have a good look at the overall game dynamics as well. You ever notice how all the females look like super hot James Bond girls and have like perfect tits? Um when it comes to gaming, sex sells dude. Maybe you should find a different game to play or perhaps avoid the weapons pages. Oh, and please sign your comments. ◰◱KY◲◳ 02:53, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Survivor title

after you get the max title, if you die, do you lose the title???

No, you will never lose a title that you already have attained. Felix Omni Signature 04:27, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Is there a way to get the number of death points (/deaths) down to 0??? the rav478
Don't die and you won't get a higher count than 0. Otherwise, no. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 15:12, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
The only way is to make a new character. --◄mendel► 19:16, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

hero armor

can u get better amor for your heros?

In the sense of armor level, for actual defense, no; heroes gain a set amount of armor per level up to level 20, and it can't increase past then. If you mean more stylish, then yes, you can get several upgrades for those. Felix Omni Signature 07:57, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
See the "Armor" section in the Hero or Category:Hero armor galleries for more information. --◄mendel► 08:51, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Also, remember that you can upgrade Hero armor with Runes and Insignias, just like your own armor. — Poki#3 My Talk Page :o, 13:52, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Transferring items in pre-searing

A friend created a new character in Pre and one of those blue info windows popped up saying something along the lines that you could transfer storage between characters at the arena in Ascalon. Is there some sort of storage like the xunlai that is available in pre-searing? And if so, how do you get to the arena in ascalon in Pre-searing. 71.166.62.112 17:38, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

There is no storage in Pre Searing. It's just a minor inconsistancy that that message pops up in Pre. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 17:50, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

attribute points

ive been playin on my sin for a while and im at arborstone. the thing is im 15 attribute points short. but i did lost treasure and unwelcome guest and im lvl 20. i dont really know whats going on.

I suggest checking back to see if you've not accidentaly forgot the quest reward, or abandoned it. It's the only explanation. Otherwise send a support ticket to ANet, http://support.guildwars.com --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 13:58, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Not all skills available with Assassin Tome?

I've got an assassin tome and I'd like to get "Critical Agility" but this skill doesn't show up in the list of available skills?

I thought it was just elite skills you couldn't capture? Is there a list of particular skills that aren't available with the standard skill tomes?72.81.212.62 00:28, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Critical Agility is not a skill that can be "unlocked" in the traditional sense, since it is both a PvE skill and Sunspear skill. --JonTheMon 00:32, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Critical Agility is a PvE-only skill, so it technically can't ever be unlocked. I'm pretty sure if you learn it from the Hero Skill Trainer, it won't give you any unlock message for it because of this. Same goes for Shadow Sanctuary, as well as any other PvE-only skill. --GEO-logo Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 00:33, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Movement Speed Increase/Decrease

I was just wondering if movement speed increase/decrease skills were cumulative? Also, if it is, then does the second skill you cast increase/decrease your current or original speed? For example, i cast a skill that speeds my movement by 25%, then, while my first skill is still active, i cast a skill that increases my speed by 33%. What will my current speed be? Will it be 58% faster than my original(25+33=58), or 33% faster than my 25% faster speed, or will the 33% replace the 25%? (if the last one, is it only when the weaker one is cast first?). I'd appreciate some help. Thanks in advance...
