Paragon Primeval male[]

I have replaced the pictures and changed the gallery to the armor art template. I think it fits now the requirements. Balwin 14:29, 7 August 2007 (CDT)

Necromancer Elite Female armors[]

I've updated many of the Necro Elite Female sets, including Obsidian, but they haven't been checkmarked as "Good." Is that an oversight, or was there a reason? Am I doing something wrong? I edited the checkmarks myself, let me know if I need to change something. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 01:34, 20 September 2007 (CDT)

I am also planning to get all the remaining Elite female necro sets. May take a while since I'm broke every time I buy one, but I'm on it. Working on Prophecies first, then Nightfall, then EOTN. Factions I consider done. The only problem with nightfall is that my character is light skinned, which conflicts with their "white" headgear style. I will dye them all green, which shows up best, after black, and post a black preview in the < noinclude > sections, like in Necromancer Ancient armor/Female. But that's all in the future, I still have 3 Prophecies sets to go. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 01:34, 20 September 2007 (CDT)
I'm open to suggestions and donations. :) What do you need to do to get on the list of project contributors? :P RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 01:34, 20 September 2007 (CDT)
Nothing, that is from Tanarik. I don't see any need for a list really. It's exclude people and make new editors think that the people on the list have more right then others. Well maybe to keep track from who new users can get help on making galleries. Aratak not sign in to protest against anyone making a profit from selling this wiki.

New GW:EN Armor?[]

Are the new armors to be added to this? I have 3 different Asuran Armors and 1 Norn. But not going to take the time to add them etc if they are not needed. Project dead?

I updated the list for Warriors showing the GW:EN armors -- Krytan Sentinel 13:11, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Height vs. Width[]

Is there a way to make all images uniform height instead of width? the "|128px" modifies width, is there one for height? I think the profession armor galleries would look much better with uniform height, since many images are still not a 1:3 ratio, and there are like on the order of 100 images on the core professions' pages. The contrast is especially noticeable in male vs. female images placed next to each other. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 01:53, 20 September 2007 (CDT)

You can't set height alone. You can use ***x***px where the stars are your size. Aratak, not sign to protest againt anyone making a profit from selling this wiki.
But this is unusable in terms of a template, since the images going into the template will have varying proportions of height vs. width, so the template would stretch and distort them if it used a uniform *x* size. Darn it... :( RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 03:59, 23 September 2007 (CDT)
When I did the template I check everywhere for something like that and at that time didn't find anything. But when you ask I checked again, that is when I saw the **x**px. I tought the same thing, it must set the size and modified the picture to fit it. I did try the paratmeters and it seems to stop at the firts one that hit the maximum. So basicly you could input anything for the width has long has it's not lower then what is needed to make the height all the same. ( nobody should make money out of this wiki )—├ Aratak 19:09, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Nice! I really think this should be implemented into the template that controls the layout in armor galleries, e.g. Necromancer armor, or Warrior armor. It would look sooo much better with uniform heights, now it looks like an audio equalizer bar. But I don't know anything about changing templates, I think only admins are allowed to mess with it, right? If someone who knows how to do it can try this, this shouldn't take all that much time, I don't think. Just change the parts where it says "|128px" to "|384x500px". 500 should be plenty for width, so it would stop at height of 384, which is 128x3 (3:1 ratio). Check if it's maybe 500x384px, I'm not sure of the order. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 18:39, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

THANK YOU!!!! to whoever did this to the template. It looks sooo much better now! RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 07:03, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Any chance the Template:Armor art gallery could be modified with the same code? - Krytan Sentinel 22:41, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Revive the project?[]

I did my best to reorganize the lists for easy readability. Whoever did Elementalist and Mesmer inspired me to do the same for all of them. I will try to add the EOTN sets into the lists now. Seems like not much has been done here recently. This is a good project, and it should be maintained. The official wiki is not the answer to out prayers, so to speak. It does not have anywhere near the amount of detail on the armor pages as we do here, so we should finish this. Many of the non-core professions have armor sets that are "free" and have not been completed yet. We should work on that. I will go into each one and see if the checkmarks are up to date. Then I will do my best to add more armor sets. Lately I've just been busting my arse getting money for the elite necro sets. Just bought another char slot just to have a mule for all the armors. Can't exactly go and destroy an Elite set. ^_^ RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 00:20, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

If you wanna continue the Armor Galleries, then I think that's cool, since it has certainly saved me large amounts of $$$ and materials from being wasted on crappy armor. However, I'd just like to ask everyone to remember GW:IMAGE and also, please, don't misname/not crop/pixellate your images! Because someone always has to delete them afterwards >.> Entropy Sig (T/C) 00:23, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

I will be more than happy to help out. I have the charcs and in game costs to afford to purchase just about any armor that is still needed for the list. --Cronus 01:08, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, all the ones marked with a big fat red X are the ones we're missing. I'm working on the money for the rest of Female Necro Elites, so don't make those a priority. Thanks for the help, and feel free to use my talk page if you have any questions. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 07:05, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
I just need to get the GW:EN stuff added. I have 5 armors for that one and only a couple that aren't already completed of the others. I haven't looked at how the template was made, but if someone that has could add in the GW:EN list I would be happy to add what I could.--Cronus 02:01, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

I've been doing my best to fix up some of the armor pages since I was very dissapointed with how poorly the eye of the north armor was first submitted. That's really what started me going on the wiki. Im still learning as I go along but to be honest, some of the pages couldn't have been much worse 'o' I'd love to support this project if you want to get it up and running again. I would propose a clean up of the old info on this talk page as a first step. -- Krytan Sentinel 15:48, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

What about added the EofN armor to the list as well? -Kamiawolf 22:38, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Yep, I started us off by updating the table of Warrior armor -- Krytan Sentinel 13:11, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
I've added the EOTN lists to the other 9 professions and relabeled them all as "Prohibitive" due to the point farming involved. You not only need to get to level 20, get to the location, and get the money, but you also need to spend hours and hours farming points to be able to craft, as well as nearly beating the espansion for Dwarven/Silver Eagle. If Elite Canthan is Prohibitive, then these definitely are, as well. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 04:19, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Screenshot Request[]

Since there is still a lack of screenshots for armour I decided to post a request on the forums. I think some people are scared off by a lack of knowledge of photo editing and the wiki code and guidelines so I am offering to edit and upload raw screenshots for people. If you'd like to read my post or the replies it's here: GWGuru Forum Krytan Sentinel sig Krytan Sentinel 18:34, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

I'll try Female Elementalist Primeval. Do you have tips for keeping them still while adjusting the camera? I suppose I'll need to dye it all grey and then redye it colored (dye donations anyone? ;). -- Peej 13:28, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
People often use the /attention command to keep them still, however, I BEG you not to use it. It causes insane clipping issues on the gloves and some other parts (they are especially bad on many female elementalist armors). Besides, I think it just looks plain stupid, and you never see anyone stand like that. Just wait for your character to do the "look around" thing, and then they will be mostly still for a few seconds. I usually take my shots towards the end of when they exhale. Also, as some people may complain about the females "twisting" their bodies, it can be easily accounted for by centering your image on the waist area, which will show off the front of the armor quite well. See some of my female elite necro armor submissions on how it looks (the list is on my userpage). RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 22:24, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
As well as zooming in with the mousewheel, try holding down the middle mouse button and push the cursor forward or backward to get the angle right. Krytan Sentinel sig Krytan Sentinel 13:18, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
How did I do? Elementalist Primeval armor/Female. Can it be unstubbed now? -- Peej 05:27, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Yup, nice job.--Marcopolo47 signature new (Talk) (Contr.) 05:29, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Hate to be a party pooper, so to speak, but the template wasn't used for image naming, and the images are centered on the face, which puts the body sideways, as well as the post-process effects seem to be on, because the elementalist underwear and brazier glow like holy hell... However, this is MUCH better than it was before, so it will definitely do for now. Next time you do images, please, message me ingame, and I will help you set up your character, as well as the webpage template. My most played character is "Rose Of Kali" and you can message me whenever, I'm always glad to help if I'm not afk, which sometimes happens (I wish they'd implement the auto-away feature... >_<). RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 19:25, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Also, when you upload new screenshots, please mark old images for deletion by using {delete| link to the page with new shots as a "reason"} on the image page (except use double {{ }} to make it wiki code). I will do it for this gallery. [Edit] You also need to check what links to those old images, and replace the links on those respective pages with the new ones. If you are not sure about it, just ask someone else to do it, it's no big deal, just make sure it doesn't go unnoticed. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 19:40, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
I changed Female Elementalist Primeval from no to maybe. I'll try to redo without post-process, facing camera, with template, etc. if I get a chance (and more dye), to make it into a for sure yes. My next goal is to do Male Paragon Norn, but it'll require some Norn point farming first. :P -- Peej 12:54, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Well, a "Maybe" means that the shots are done and only need Photoshop work and/or renaming, not need to be retaken. But I'll leave it for now, since you say you will attempt to redo them. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 02:16, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Vabbian Female Mesmer[]

is marked as unacceptable, but i just reshot those a few months ago with good images. if there's something wrong with them, let me know so i can fix it. i have all the armor, just let me know. --Honorable Sarah Honorable Icon 01:38, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Very busy background which interferes with the edge details of the armor, and is overall distracting. Also, the character seems to have some glow on her, but not as bad as the usual post process effects, so I don't know what it's from. Someone posted a really nice guide at the top of this talk page. She didn't mention the Ctrl+Shift+H trick to close the UI completely, which I always use for screen shots. I usually take them near the Master of Axes guy on Isle of the Nameless, nearby from the Enchantments guy, on the beach. The sea is a really nice clean background. If you have any questions at all, just ask me here or pm me as Rose Of Kali in game (I do tend to afk quite often, so just be aware of that, but I'll always help if I'm there). See Necromancer Vabbian armor/Female for what mine looked like. Good luck and thanks for contributing. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 00:04, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Obsidian Assassin Female[]

Used the template to redo the gallery. Made all new screen shots. Currently only available at User:EraDKtor/Sandbox as I think of redoing the undyed parts with slightly better lighting. -- EraDKtor 21:04, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

That looks great. Your problem with undyed partis that you're not looking at them head on is all. —JediRogue 21:18, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
It's actually my friends armor and the problem is that his character is tiny. Very. And mine are usually above standard size so it's not that easy... I'll do my best ;) --EraDKtor 11:30, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
I could also do Ranger Female Istani armor ((Ranger Luxon + Elite Druid -- If I still can afford the dyes to color it back the way it is now *g*)) and Ritualist Exotic female once I'm done with the Obsidian Armor... --EraDKtor 11:22, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

OK last update for the Obsidian Armor - decide on either the sand/sea background with a higher angle or the grass/sea background with a lower one. <update 2008-01-30>Grass ones have been used for the final gallery. Not accepted!?

Why? I might be able to convince my friend of another photo session. What is the reason the gallery was not accepted? Different backgrounds? The slightly different angle? I created it in the first place so I might as well do it right, if you tell me what exactly I did wrong. (Unless someone else wants to...) --EraDKtor 17:21, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Well most of the galleries which still have an X don't use the right template or have mountains/grass in the background. What about the Ranger Norn female gallery? I could redo that one too with a guild member if needed, although the current one looks fine to me. --EraDKtor 20:45, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

ranger obsidian[]

This is the last time I will change Ranger obsidians to "NO" to avoid revert policy issues, but I really don't think they are a Maybe. Maybe means the shots are good but need cropping/renaming/other shop work. The current images for both male and female have awful backgrounds that should be unacceptable according to our current standards. The fact that the undyed images are actually yellow is not a huge deal, but again, the backgrounds need to go... "Maybe" does not mean that it's acceptable until we get something better, it means that it can be made into what it should be with some time investment, which cannot be done just yet. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 08:02, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

"Maybe"[]

I keep seeing people labeling "acceptable" galleries as "Maybe." This is WRONG. "Maybe," as stated in the legend, means the gallery is not just "acceptable," but is complete. The images must be done correctly, and only require renaming, cropping, template insertion, or other shop work that could be done by a person who does not have that armor set. Please, stop labelling "acceptable" image galleries as "Maybe," they are still "No." RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 19:33, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

While I know the difference between Maybe and No, I am always hesitant to label any of them Yes unless I've dealt with the images myself. If the gallery is complete but I haven't personally dealt with picture names, cropping, or colour of dyed armour, I will err to Maybe rather than label it Yes. Maybe pages are more likely to be checked by other users than yes pages (excepting Recent Changes) and a second opinion of if it is actually complete is not a bad thing (though it does generate more work for other people than if I asserted that I was right) Ezekiel [Talk] 01:23, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
This is perfectly fine. The problem was that people labeled pages that were a "No" with "Maybe" for whatever reason. I've corrected a few of those already. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 06:04, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Exotic and Imperial Armour[]

Oh yeah, about platemail as normal armour. Should non-elite Exotic armor, and non-elite Imperial armor be normal as well? They're only ever at max but we've got it as "free" at the moment. While they are default available for PvP characters (as far as I know) they're not free for PvE characters, and require going at least as far as Bukdek Byway or Waijin Bazaar. I assume Imperial is labeled as Free because for classes other than Assassin and Ritualtist it is Krytan armor which can be under max and easily obtained. Exotic however is comparable to Tyrian armor which we have as cheap.Ezekiel [Talk] 06:29, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

But it IS free in PvP. That is sufficient. Nothing in PvE is free besides starter, only cheap or higher. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 06:57, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
P.S. I have rechecked all the cost colors last year, by PvP AND PvE availability, and unless things changed in-game, they are correct. Also, note that some armor types have different costs depending on profession (mainly, Tyrian/Krytan, some are available free in PvP and some are not), so only assume correctness for the one profession you check. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 07:03, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

I know how to make pvp armor. dude im like 1447 at teh pvp jaom. its basic including silver not gray. u have to buy the gray dye. haha you gotta buy gray die. —JediRogue 08:23, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
She's right, you know. You're thinking of silver. Maui sig 08:24, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Ok, so you gotta spend 200-250g for gray dye... That's basically free. You gotta buy gray dye for starter armor too, which was considered "free." Otherwise, remove the "free" category altogether and just have cheap, normal, expensive, and prohibitive. And while at it, the only NORMAL is platemail, so we can just move it down to cheap and have only three categories. Tadaa! RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 17:15, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
