Project Proposal

I'd like to see more editors band together for a single, specific goal, like this project. If you like, feel free to move this into the GuildWiki namespace (GuildWiki:Image project) and work together there to organize a collective effort. —Tanaric 10:48, 23 October 2006 (CDT)

I'm reletively new to more "hard core" wiki editing (usually just a few things ive picked up), so im not really sure what goes into making a real project? I'm glad people like this idea tho... I was suprised to see so many pages without image! :D Kamiawolf 10:58, 23 October 2006 (CDT)

As far as I know, the GuildWiki has never had a real, structured project like this, so there's no procedure in place. Just move this article over to GuildWiki:Image project (or something similar, the name is up to you) and work together with others who are interested. My user page has a little list similar to this page, compiled before I knew of this project's existence. Difference being that my page links to the monster article, whereas the links here are directed straight to the images. I prefer my setup better, but if someone wants to add more monsters that need images to this page from my list, they can go right ahead Swordfish56 11:09, 2 May 2007 (CDT)

I can see why the monster page is a practical, sine you can just use the link to find where to find them but this setup make it easier to manage. Since blue link mean someone uploaded a image. Since I'm going for vanquisher I will try to complete this list.—├ Aratak ┤ 11:33, 2 May 2007 (CDT)

Filename edits

Aratak, I see there's a bunch of filenames you're fixing. It might be worthwhile to check the articles that need images to make sure their image link is correct. I imagine that Kamiawolf just copied these over from there. —Tanaric 10:56, 23 October 2006 (CDT)

Found Images

I noticed that the image links lead to a text file instead of upload image, I'll change that to link to upload image, if you want, is it meant to be like that?

Format

From what i can tell your supposed to be able to click on the link to get to the upload page. Normally this requires the image to be on this page for that feature to work. Perhaps we could have links to the page that uses the image or use the actual image but use a very small scale. I'll look into which is easier and try to implement one or both if there are no objections.--Brother Roland 13:20, 17 December 2006 (CST)

I added some creatures from the bestiary, using the system of looking through subcatagories that represent species in alphabetical order. I managed to complete A to G so far. As to this system i have not checked all Assassins or Bosses yet, along with other non-species subcatagories. If someone wants to continue where i left off go for it, i'll be taking a short break. Mendel, why is the total number of "beasts" decreasing in your Automated list summaries? It went from 5180 to 5155 to 5076... and I know we haven't deleted 100 monster articles in the past couple weeks. —Dr Ishmael 14:05, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Actually, the current pages dump is getting smaller as well (by some Megabytes). I have archives of all the old dumps, so I can unpack some and find out which monsters have gotten lost (and why) - maybe someone's been subst-ing beastinfos? New Automatic list?

I've been able to add a few pictures over the past couple weeks. I am moving a character along the Nightfall story to get to some NPC that only spawns during a quest and I plan on going to the dungeons in EotN to see what shots I can get. I'm not much of an elite player so I have serious doubts that I can get shots of the elite areas in Factions and some of the challenge missions in EotN and Nightfall. So after I get the shots that I intend, I do not know how much I will be able to help with the remaining missing shots. Would it be possible to do another automatic list to see if there are any other pictures missing that might be within my reach?Bikeboy854 04:03, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Hmm, you do know that the mission list is incomplete? Anyway, the way I understand it Wikia says they won't do the database dumps any more with the current setup, and I fully expect it to be May before they do one again. I'm going to ask them for it again, but it may prove as unfruitful as before. If I find a way to list all monster pages I could possibly devise another way to get the information ... hmm... it'd probably mean three hours of ciding and bashing my head against the wiki, so I really want to avoid that. No, I don't know for sure, but not being anywhere close to knowing the way wiki works, I thought it would be an easy process to recheck and see if any new pages have cropped up without pictures, since the last automatic listing was done in September.
