:PvP: The thought is to use observer mode to glean the builds that the guilds have used in the past, much like sports teams will prepare by watching videos of past games of their prospective opponents. To keep it current we need a team of observer mode watchers that is strong enough to keep up; if it isn't, it would suffice to cover the "important" matches. Certainly that's practical.

:PvE: My observation is that guilds are the first place to ask when a player is looking for a build, and because of that guilds do tend to run similar builds - at least some do. To associate a build with a guild achieves a reduction in ownership sense, i.e. it is assumed that the build has been used by several guild members, and that no single guild member tries to use the GuildWiki entry to gain reputation - factors that have contributed to disadavtage the former GuildWiki build section. Posting good builds here builds a PvE guild's reputation, and that is incentive to participate here. Of course the builds need not be fixed, i.e. there could be fixed builds for certain roles and areas, and more flexible guides for other applications. I also hope that by associating builds with guilds that more team builds will be posted. --[[User:M.mendel|◄mendel►]] 00:07, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

I think the arguments that Silver Sunlight posted as response should be argued here; I feel the question is still open, and the reason that this suggestion has not been implemented is that there has been nobody yet who wanted to do it. That is not a good reason to close, though. --[[User:M.mendel|◄mendel►]] 03:48, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

For pvp purposes, I'd think that guilds wouldn't want to tell prospective opponents what builds they'll use. It would be impractical to try to keep it current, too.

For pve use, since when do guilds use fixed builds, rather than adjusting them to the content? Doing that would be rather dumb. For that matter, since when do all the people in a guild use a particular build even for a particular area? Quizzical 23:18, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Entrea, please read Project:Suggestions: the suggestions need not be governed by existing policy. I give reasons in my proposal why that would make sense, I can only reply to you if you have read those and address them in your complaint. --◄mendel► 00:07, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
PvP: The thought is to use observer mode to glean the builds that the guilds have used in the past, much like sports teams will prepare by watching videos of past games of their prospective opponents. To keep it current we need a team of observer mode watchers that is strong enough to keep up; if it isn't, it would suffice to cover the "important" matches. Certainly that's practical.
PvE: My observation is that guilds are the first place to ask when a player is looking for a build, and because of that guilds do tend to run similar builds - at least some do. --◄mendel► 00:07, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

PvE builds

Useless. It's going to be the testing section of PvX or the old build section on Guildwiki all over again. A historic PvP database would be useful but that's it really. No PvE things. That's not the manner to deal with this. However, we have no need for such a section here on guildwiki as PvX exists. --Lann-sf2 Lann 01:57, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
