Istan

Template:C3 Istan is one of the provinces (regions) of Elona, featured in the Nightfall campaign.

Istan is a large archipelago located off the south-western shores of the Elona mainland, consisting of three large islands and a number of smaller islands. It is known for its fantastic monuments left behind as remnants of a distant past. It is a land of heroes, its citizens are known as the protectors of Elona. Many of Istan's monuments symbolize a lost glory of an ancient Elonian empire.

Istan is ruled by the Council of Elders. Elder Suhl is the leader of the council and the Istani Clanmarshal.

Notes

• Most outposts in Istan have a maximum party size of 4, the only exceptions are Beknur Harbor, Kodlonu Hamlet and Blacktide Den, which have a maximum party size of 8.

Trivia

• The name Istan is probably derived from the -stan suffix, which means "land", "place" or "country" in Sanskrit, Persian and related languages, and literally means I-Land.
• Istan is also an inland spanish town on the costa del sol.
• Istan is also a shortened version of 'Istanbul', a city in Turkey.
