Laris is a Canthan providing the briefing to players on the situation for the Aurios Mines mission.

Mission briefing:
- "Captain Rion and the rest of the Halcyon crew were out reaving for jade when these nightmare creatures ambushed them. Without help, they'll slaughter the entire crew, but to retreat would bring dishonor on the ship, and that's not an option for the captain. If you can help the captain defend the mines while our reavers extract the jade, you'd have our gratitude.
- Do you have any questions before heading into the mine?"
What exactly must I do?
- "There are several mining nodes infested by these nightmare creatures. Exterminate them so that our reavers can continue harvesting jade. The more nodes we harvest from, the more jade we can collect. The creatures are gaining in strength, so it's only a matter of time before they overwhelm us..."
Do you have any advice?
- "1. Keep the reavers alive at all cost.
- 2. Intercept and destroy enemy groups before they reach the mining nodes.
- 3. Keep Captain Rion alive to help you defend the mining nodes."
