If nobody comments or opposes in a week I'll go ahead and make the change. -PanSola 04:36, 10 April 2007 (CDT)

Sounds good to me. --Dirigible 05:24, 10 April 2007 (CDT)
Works for me - although in the past I've heard comments against letting the navigation box grow too big itself (part of why news and support are broken out on their own boxes). I have no idea how big is "too big" to some people, but if it's a concern, we could break out tools (random and recent) into their own group. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 10:51, 10 April 2007 (CDT)
I'm indifferent, this is mine \o/ — Skuld 03:45, 14 April 2007 (CDT)

Policy link[]

It's just me, but wouldn't the policy link on the sidebar fit better as the top item under support? I suppose it depends on how you interpret the word "support". --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 15:47, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

I agree. —JediRogue 18:45, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Admin info[]

Could "Administrator information" be changed to "contact an admin"? It's shorter; the long version warps on my sidebar. --◄mendel► 10:08, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

"Oasis View" link[]

I believe the extra parameters for the Monaco link are unnecessary/useless for the NWL skin. -User:PanSola (talk to the Follower of Lyssa) 09:37, November 8, 2010 (UTC)

There are no themes now, so the "usetheme" doesn't have much of an effect (I do see a slight change) —but on the other hand it doesn't hurt, either— ; the allinone=0 does change this page from 633kB in 23 files to 792 kB in 62 files: I did that because it is easier to access the css and javascript when it is modular and still has whitespace, and it usually works even when the "allinone" version has glitched. --◄mendel► 17:20, November 8, 2010 (UTC)

Box Order[]

Could we move the Search box to be above the Support box? It feels awkwardly low, especially since its probably the box that gets the most use. Some of the lower resolutions even have to scroll down to see it. --Kirbman sig Kirbman 23:40, November 16, 2010 (UTC)

As far as I know, this mediawiki page doesn't help with that. However, you can install the following lines on your Special:MyPage/monobook.css:
/* move search box to top */
div#p-navigation { margin-top:75px; }
div#p-search { position: absolute; left:0px; top:145px; }
Bring your suggestion up on the Project talk:Community Portal if you want this implemented site-wide; I think we discussed it before (when I made that .css for myself), but didn't do it then. --◄mendel► 23:57, November 16, 2010 (UTC)
The old discussion is here, and apparently adding * SEARCH here would allow us to control search box placement. --◄mendel► 00:05, November 17, 2010 (UTC)
