A Morale Boost is a boost to your Health and Energy of a fixed percentage. All skills and signets are recharged (including the Resurrection Signet). Maximum in the game is 10%, the minimum -60%.

Morale Boost in PvE

Sources: Usually gained in 2% increments, morale boosts can come from mission objectives, defeating bosses, and by donating gold to a god's Avatar in an explorable area.
Removal: Death. When a player is killed, a Death Penalty of 15% is subtracted from the Morale Boost. Using map travel or leaving the adventure zone to a city, mission, or outpost will reset your Morale Boost to zero. Candy Canes which were available around Wintersday 2005 also reset Morale Boost.

Morale Boost in PvP

Sources: Morale boosts in PvP come in 10% increments or 1% increments.

Removal: Death. When a player is killed, a Death Penalty of 15% is subtracted from the Morale Boost. When winning a map, players keep their positive Morale Boost, but get rid of their negative ones.

Note: In every PvP arena in the game, besides the Heroes' Ascent, you cannot gain any Morale Boost.
