Description
The Serpent Axe is an axe with a long, thin haft and a boot-shaped blade. The blade is engraved with a serpent, the same as the one which can be used as a Guild emblem (seen on Guild capes). The axe is named after the serpent engraving.
There are two versions of this skin. The first version which was obtainable is often referred to as the Tyrian skin. It is larger than the second version - the Canthan skin and dye affects the whole axe. The Canthan skin is smaller than the Tyrian and dye only affects the serpent symbol and the other metal parts which are yellow by default. There is no difference between the inventory icons of the two versions except that dyeing the Tyrian version from default will not change the color of the inventory icon.
- Other axes with this appearance:
Location
- Serpent Axes are a random drop. Most max Serpent Axes are from either chests from GW:EN (inscribable and Tyrian version confirmed) or Shing Jea (Hard Mode - Canthan version). Uninscribable Tyrian versions drop in the Prophecies Campaign also - players have claimed to have obtained them in the Fissure of Woe.
- Lower level Serpent Axes (white and blue) are a common drop on Shing Jea Island and dmg. 3-5 ones can also be found in pre-searing.
- Serpent Axes may also drop in the Nightfall Campaign but this has yet to be proven.
- A Battle Axe with the Serpent Axe skin is given as a quest reward after completing Little Thom's Big Cloak, a pre-searing quest.
Dye
- Dyed red by default.
- Dye will fully affect the Tyrian skin.
- Dye will affect only the engraved serpent and yellow parts of the Canthan skin.
