Description

The Serpent Axe is an axe with two skins. The Tyrian skin is larger and dye affects the whole axe, while the Canthan axe is smaller and dye only affects the serpent symbol and yellow pieces of the axe. Note that there is no difference between the inventory icons except the Tyrian skin icon will show no coloring from dye. The axe head resembles a boot. The blade is engraved with the image of a serpent (the same as the Guild symbol), hence its name.

Location

Serpent Axes are a random drop. While they do not seem to drop in any specific area, they are one of the rarest items in the game. Serpent Axes usually drop at or near max damage.

A Battle Axe with the Serpent Axe skin is given as a quest reward after completing Little Thom's Big Cloak, a pre-searing quest. Damage 3-5 Serpent Axes (properly named) are also known to drop in pre-searing.

Lower level Serpent axes (white and blue) drop often on the Shing Jea Island.

Serpent Axes may drop in Nightfall, though this fact is yet to be proven. Serpent Axes also drop in Prophecies; some players claim to have obtained it in the Fissure of Woe.

Dye

• Dye will affect only the engraved serpent and yellow parts of the Canthan skin.
