The Great Northern Wall (building) says the Wall itself is a reference to Song of Ice and Fire, in which case this one makes sense. Of course, that's assuming the Wall->Wall reference itself is valid. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 21:25, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
I might be pretty late, but... This is a reference to A song of Ice and Fire. Seriously. A man, named Benjen, goes missing north of a wall that protects the realm from outsides (charr, anyone?). He are a member of House Stark, which has the Direwolf as their signature animal. Benjen is also a ranger, and also got seperated from his group during an attack. This also goes with other references to A song of Ice and Fire throughout pre-searing, like the NPC named Wilton Payce, which is another person from the book, the wall itself, the whole guild wars thing which also comes from the book (the continent had gone through a period called The Guild Wars not too long ago), and... I think you get the idea. /pseudo-fanatic rant. [-Lifestyle-] 22:13, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
