A ranger could also use it as a swap weapon as a shield, it provides 10 armor and 5 energy while non-req shields provide a maximum of 8 armor (used to be higher but they don't spawn anymore to my knowledge). - they get 2 half-bonuses. look at the energy gain and armor gain.

Half bonuses?[]
