Drop Rate fluctuations

Observation: Item drop rate for crafting material. Crafting material that is in short supply at traders drops in larger stacks from monsters. While it has yet to be 'proven' you can compare the drop rate of bones and cloth/tanned hides. You will find that both cloth and tanned hides drop in stacks of 8-15 while bones are ALWAYS in stacks of 1-2. I have recently noticed that the amount getting dropped is in direct correspondance to the trader. I think there is a game mechinism in place to replenish short supplies by increasing that particular items amount in drops. For now this is speculation. --Draygo Korvan 15:16, 4 May 2006 (CDT)

Maybe it has been changed since, but I have never had bones drop in quantity less then 10. --- Lightpl 13:46, 22 October 2006 (CDT)

We have more materials than ANet! :)

They list 34 in the game news tidbit about the new storage slots, we have 36! We pwned ANet! :) The reason, I guess, is that they are not counting the Brock of Mud and Brick of Clay. --Karlos 01:29, 30 June 2006 (CDT)

Question???

Is it a Proven factor than rare materials have a higher drop rate in factions (and or Nightfall) compared to tyria and if yes will this apply to a Sub-Regions (Underworld - Fissure of Woe)?

Surely there wouldn't be a difference in UW drop rates based upon what chapter you left from! ````
