Spiders / EoE test[]

The article currently puts Tyrian and FoW spiders into insects. And it says that an EoE test shows that Devourers, Dryders and Scarabs are not insects. This is a double fallacy based solely on the assumption that Stalking Nephilia are spiders. They look like a spider, but technically they may not be spiders, just like a Black Widow isn't technically a spider. The fact that Nephilia don't drop any Spider Legs is one indication. Now, if Nephilia are not spiders then the whole chain of evidence collapses. During the Nightfall preview we had no way to do an EoE test with Devourers, Dryders and Scarabs against any of the creatures that trigger the Insect Hunt bonus. Also, we couldn't test the Insect Hunt bonus with any spider other than the Nephilia, which may not be a spider. I expect that we'll be able to sort out this riddle when the Nightfall retail version comes out, because I expect that we'll see Scarabs and Devourers in Kourna, so we should be able to do an Insect Hunt test and/or an EoE test against a Nephilia. Maybe there is even a weapon "of Insectslaying". But for now, the article contains a "theorie" (assumption to be proven) that should be pointed out as such. --Tetris L 01:22, 26 September 2006 (CDT)

I removed spiders from the insect species, and undid that whole stuff. First of all, I would like to know how someone did an EoE test between the insects in Nightfall and the Scarabs and spiders in Prophecies. That's quite an impressive rance they have on their EoE spirit. Until (and I expect this to be true) we get a sword of Bug-slaying we can't prove this. Speculation does not = fact. In order to state something in this wiki as fact there has to be grounds. There is nothing that we have now that can tie those two species together. --Karlos 23:45, 28 September 2006 (CDT)
Does anyone have a low-level Elonian character to test whether Humbugs count for the Insect Hunt bounty? -- Gordon Ecker 05:42, 24 December 2006 (CST)
