Istan means My-land or Home-land, where as Istanbul has nothing to do with the Stan(Land) part, it just happened be pronounced like Istanbul, i believe turks and Arab's pronounce it differently, removed the Turkish part ~ Kurd 15:38, 9 January 2007 (CST)

Getting there
