Looks good on my monk, and the dye is a sort of "intense" you could say.137.164.198.146
The dye changes the color of the entire shield, but rust spots tend to stay about the color they were before the dye. Black makes this shield look stunning. Hebe 00:26, 1 September 2007 (CDT)

It looks like it's woven from strips of metal. That would be plaited, not plated. Maybe I'm wrong here, but that's how it looks to me - and I can just picture the designer telling the programmer over the phone "Shield number 24, plaited shield, shield number 25..." --
