Confused[]
It looks like this article exists so one can choose between adding secondary professions at Great Temple of Balthazar or at any of the Crystal Desert profession NPCs. But why would you? I recently had my Warrior ascend and get his secondary professions through the quests so as to save money, and then go to the profession changer in the GToB to get the rest. He let me change my secondary profession back to core professions after, (although I could have done so through the skill menu) and when he did, he gave me the additional skills. So the correct answer is not to choose, but to use both. I also brought my Dervish to Prophecies to get the bonus skills, and that works also. My origional secondary profession was Necromancer, so he only let me have those skills without completing the quests, but that is a minor pain. Or maybe I am missing the point with this article. - I agree; I'm not seeing the "choice" here. Maybe it is a historical article. I think the content should still exist, though, so that one has a reference for what campaign to start in if they base it on free skills... (T/C) 03:38, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- I made the page a long time ago, and just referenced recently. Yes, it's to determine if you want to do the profession changing quest or pay for the profession change. It may seem like taking the quest is a no brainer, but if you factor in the price of the skills, it often becomes cheaper to buy the profession change. Assuming you were going to buy those specific skills. I didn't feel it was important enough to be on the main skill quests page, and it'd be pretty confusing there as well. Regardless, this page is just a tool, use it if it serves you. --Mooseyfate 01:13, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- Anyone can gain all these skills. Simply complete the profession changing quests from Prophecies to learn all those skills and gain the core secondaries. Then go to a profession changing NPC and change to those again. For example, I started a E/Me in Prophecies, and I still was able to obtain Drain Enchantment after ascending by switching to a different secondary, then using the NPC to change back to /Me, thus obtaining new skills. -- WhiteAsIce 08:23, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I agree that some of the data in this article is worth displaying on the wiki. However, this presentation overlaps significantly with that of Profession Changer. To the extent that it matters which NPC you choose, it would be easier on readers if the information was in a single article. The length of this article also hides some of the more interesting differences. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:51, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
