The category of this poor thing has been changed SIX times already in the rather short lifetime of this article: Harpy > Griffons > Skree > Harpies > Skree griffons > Harpies. I invoke GW:1RV and demand that whoever intends to change the category explains his reasons in Talk:Harpy first! --TurningL sml 02:13, 29 September 2006 (CDT)

I saw level 2 Skree Hatchling in the Wilderness of Bahdza, they were rangers and the only skill they used was Read the Wind. I just checked it was during the quest Destroy the Harpies, they don't appear without the quest. Here is a screenshot. Since my english is bad i'll let you decide what to do.--takeya 15:08, 6 December 2006 (CST)

Opinion vs Fact

The reason this poor topic keeps getting relocated and the rather dubious suggestion that Skree and Griffon are closely related is because the Skree Hatchlings are miniture griffons.

However, in many other games it's not uncommon for two completely different creatures to share similar or even identical models simply for simplicity's sake (It saves making additional art assets), which is the likely explanation here - a griffon DOES sort of look like a skree who hasn't learned to move bipedally,. and so it's a good substitute model. It doesn't mean they're the same species.

Skree Hatchlings should probably be left independant from Griffons in the Skree catagory and the note about them "Clearly being griffons" being left out. Afterall, it says they're Skree, they are subject to the Skree Bounties, and the related quests are clearly suggest they are young sSkree not young Griffons therefore to all intents and purposes they are Skree. Any suggestion of Griffons therefore is simply original research until confirmed otherwise by ANet. -- 21:46, 5 June 2007 (CDT)

Level 2

I added a note that the level 2 Hatchlings are not the same as the level 8 and 23.
