Weapon customizers, not Weaponsmiths[]

← Moved from Project talk:Community Portal

^ see title, and see history for Autumn. —MaySig Warw/Wick 19:36, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

I'd say that the fact that the Guild Hall NPC is a "Weaponsmith" closes this issue... Searching for "Weapon customizer" gives nothing, so I think this term isn't used anywhere in the game. — Poki#3 My Talk Page :o, 00:44, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Warwick, nothing in the history of the Autumn article supports your stance that they should be called "Weapon customizers". When I take a look at that history, all I see is that you are taking action to rename them. If you want a discussion, you should explain the arguments that support the stance you take. -User:PanSola (talk to the Follower of Lyssa) 01:27, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

It is often the same NPC that crafts and customizes weapons. In pre-searing Ascalon, these NPCs are separate, but they both carry the description "[Weapons]". Inasmuch as there is no discernable distinction between a weapons crafter and a weapons customizer, it makes sense to not have two separate articles for the separate roles. In real life, a weaponsmith would also be the one to customize a weapon to you - weight the blade etc. It makes sense to have "Weaponsmith" be the central article on this topic. --◄mendel► 22:15, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm with Pan, mendel, and Poki. There's no need to give these people a separate article, considering their sole function is a subset of what Weaponsmiths do. They're just a specialized weaponsmith that doesn't craft anything. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 02:14, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
^what they said. Merge is alright with me. --Shadowcrest 02:48, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
The only thing I would add is that some [Weaponsmith]s ONLY customize, and don't craft anything. This should just be noted in the article for each NPC. But since they are named the same in game, they should be categorized the same here. RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 04:21, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Some weaponsmiths only craft and don't customize (Arthur Ayala in pre-searing Ascalon). --◄mendel► 08:02, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
