General

Trap: "Creates a trap that you set and leave for your enemy to trigger." [1]

These skills are a subset of the Ranger skills that are related to the Wilderness Survival and Beast Mastery attributes. Traps vary in their nature and effect, but in general, all require time to prepare and are easily interrupted while activating, are triggered either when a mob comes into contact with them or after a certain amount of time elapses, and affect the area (AOE) around their placement.

Because they require time to set up, and some cooperation and communication with one's party to lure mobs over them, they can be difficult to utilize. However, their high damage/conditions creating potential should not be overlooked. All traps affect nearby enemies with one exception, Healing Spring, which heals nearby allies. Healing Spring is also different in that it activates immediately (assumingly because you are an 'ally'). Although the traps affect nearby foes when triggered, the trap will only trigger if someone comes in adjacent range of the location the trap was set up.

Notes

Currently, traps can be classified as four types (these names for the types are completely unofficial):

"Weak" Traps - Traps that have a damage level of 0, which mean they will inflict the damage written on the description on foes with 0 armor, which is impossible except the foe is without any armor, or is wearing an event head piece such as the Dragon Mask. Those are all Wilderness Survival traps with a damage type of Fire or Piercing. The person that set up the trap will NOT see the numbers when the trap damages foes. "Normal" Traps - Traps that have a damage level of 60, which mean they will inflict the damage written on the description on foes with 60 armor. This is the only Beast Mastery trap avaiable. The person that set up the trap will see the numbers when the trap damages foes. "Ignoring" Traps - Traps that ignore armor, which mean they will inflict the damage written on the description on any foe without any damage modifying effects on them such as "Victory or Death!" or Frenzy. This is the only Wilderness Survival Trap without a specified damage type. The person that set up the trap will see the numbers when the trap damages foes. "Beneficial" Traps - Traps that affect allies only. This is the only Wilderness Survival Trap that heals allies.
