Trap: "Creates a trap that you set and leave for your enemy to trigger." [1]

These skills are a subset of the Ranger skills that are related to the Wilderness Survival attribute. Traps vary in their nature and effect, but in general, all require time to prepare and are easily interrupted while activating, are triggered either when a mob comes into contact with them or after a certain amount of time elapses, and affect the area (AOE) around their placement.

Because they require time to set up, and some cooperation and communication with one's party to lure mobs over them, they can be difficult to utilize. However, their high damage/conditions creating potential should not be overlooked.

Full: When Barbed Trap is triggered, all nearby foes are struck for 7...20 piercing damage, become Crippled, and begin Bleeding for 3...21 seconds. Barbed Trap ends after 90 seconds. While activating this skill, you are easily interrupted.

Concise: (90 seconds.) Affects nearby foes. Deals 7...20 piercing damage. Inflicts Crippled and Bleeding conditions (3...21 conditions). Easily interrupted.

  • Using Mantra of Earth will reduce the damage from this skill, as if the damage were of earth damage, even if it is within range of Winter.
  • This is the only trap that ignores armor which makes it extremely useful for farming high level enemies, a single Dust Trap adds up to over 100 damage.
