I would like to defend myself by stating that I did nothing offensive to anybody. I deleted the tag because the person who placed it there did not even read the page about the build. If anything, select users were being offensive to me by not reading a build before deeming it unworthy or candidate for deletion. I kindly pointed this out, and I was attacked. User referred to the build as "damned." To be honest, I believe no true offenses have been made on either side, but somehow I am the target for blocking. -S Penumbra

I am not suggesting that you should or should not be banned, I am not even going to weigh in on the offensive part. I will say however that the deletion tag specifically says that the tag is NOT to be removed by the author. So, you should take your case to the discussion page (which I believe you did) and you should allow for discussion, but a unilateral decision on your part to remove the deletion tag, even if you believed the tag was unfair isn't the right thing to do. Also note that most Admins will read through talk pages before actually deleting a page, so there wasn't really a reason to remove it anyway. (on his talk page)Thank you for coming to me calmly about this. I'm relatively new to the wiki, so seeing somebody who sympathizes with my frustration instead of just flaming me is greatly appreciated. I know I was in the wrong to remove the tag, and I understand the wiki ruling. I will not break it in the future. However, it seems like there's a serious double standard here--I'm not allowed to make a unilateral decision to remove the tag, but somebody is allowed to make a unilateral decision to place it there in the first place (after not even reading the build setup, nonetheless!). I would be perfectly fine with all criticisms of my build if the aggressive parties had actually read the page which they admitted to having not. -S Penumbra
Just to clarify, the person who puts the tag on (assuming they are not an Admin) can't actually delete the page, so he has to have his action (i.e. putting the delete tag on) confirmed by another user. Admins also usually wait for some kind of consensus among other users that the page should be deleted. That is not a unilateral decision. Defiant Elements (talk ~ contribs) 00:39, 26 March 2007 (CDT)
Another thing is try not to take people's comments on a build as a personal attack on yourself. Realize that the vast majority of comments aren't meant to flame you, they are honest opinions. Thinking that those comments are personal attacks is likely to make the problem worse. Defiant Elements (talk ~ contribs) 00:39, 26 March 2007 (CDT)
As to "offensive comments" I will not try to make judgment over whether or not your comments (or anyone else's) were in fact offensive, but I will say this. First, using lots of Caps Lock and responding as if the comments on the build/the deletion tag were an attack isn't going to get you a lot of support. Please try to keep discussions calm and not incite more arguing. Second, before you post comments, try to read them a couple times and see whether the comment itself, as well as the delivery would be detrimental to the wiki as a community. Third, if certain topics/areas are really making you angry or something, try to stay away from them. Realize that anger on your part will likely just cause greater escalation. Try to take time off and reevaluate. Better you take a little while off and stay away from the areas that are pushing your buttons so to speak than getting banned. Alright, well I believe I have written quite enough for now. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Defiant Elements (talk ~ contribs) 00:43, 26 March 2007 (CDT)
I did not use the capitals to appear angry, I use capitals to emphasize key phrases in my debate or statement. For example, the fact that I have been using this build for months. The user who claims I was being offensive to him didn't read the build page itself, so I had to inform him that I have been using the build successfully and that I was aware of the AI Update which has nerfed previous W/Mo Troll Farmers. Shrugging off the build, saying it "doesn't work," when I clearly stated several times both on the page and in the talk page that I am currently using it to farm FORCED me to emphasize that fact. I capitalized forced just now to draw attention to the way in which I use capitals. He, however, accused me of personally attacking him and then used excess negative language to describe my build. He accused me of speaking in a "highly insulting manner" when we were speaking in a similar manner ourselves...I told him I did not value his input, because it lacked quality. It did. He didn't even read the page. But then he ALSO used capitals in his return message. Should I put a tag up for temporary block on HIS page? I don't think I will. Just making a point. -S Penumbra
