Usage

• This skill deals more average damage over time than Shadow Strike (At 12 Blood Magic Vampiric Gaze does an average of ~8.7 damage per second if cast continuously. Under the same conditions, Shadow Strike deals only 8.2 damage per second against a foe with greater than 50% health, and once that foe's health drops, the damage drops to just 4.1 damage per second,) but costs more energy over time (Vampiric Gaze costs ~1.7 Energy per second if cast continuously, while Shadow Strike costs 1.0 Energy per second.)
• At lower levels of Blood Magic, Vampiric Gaze tends to offer a better damage per energy ratio than Shadow Strike. However, at the highest levels of Blood Magic, Shadow Strike's efficiency against a healthy foe significantly exceeds that of Vampiric Gaze. At 12 Blood Magic, Vampiric Gaze offers 5.2 damage per energy, while Shadow Strike deals 8.2 and 4.1 damage per energy. At 16 Blood Magic, Vampiric Gaze deals 6.3 damage per energy, while Shadow Strike offers 10.0 and 5.0 damage/energy.
• Vampiric Gaze tends to have a higher rate of average damage than Shadow Strike, particularly against weakened foes. However, Vampiric Gaze costs more energy over time and is less efficient than Shadow Strike at high levels of Blood Magic against healthy foes.
